During the Great Depression, Frank Hofmann, Sr. bought a dairy farm in Central New York. His entrepreneurial spirit and hard work paid off as Hillside Acres grew into a successful, family-owned dairy operation that was passed down to Frank’s sons.

The family tradition carries on, as a third generation of the Hofmann family continues in agricultural pursuits on the farm.

Growing interest in locally grown products, along with increased numbers of micro-, nano-, and farm breweries in New York have created the need for an affordable, reliable, high-quality source of brewing ingredients.

Hillside Hops is dedicated to preserving the agricultural heritage of Central New York, encouraging a healthy and holistic use of land, and partnering with other locally-owned businesses to provide a great product at a reasonable price.
